I imagined a group of creatures “Chong” invading the space
I drew them with crayons and shaped using clay

As I further explored my relationship with nature, I confronted my fear of insects—particularly caterpillars. I employed multipmediums to engage with this fear, using my body as a site of confrontation and entanglement.
I wove my emotions and thoughts into a process of digital metamorphosis, transforming reality into a world of “CHONG
With over one hundred thousand species of caterpillars, color became a central focus of this research—each possessing distinct and often striking combinations of hues and patterns. I sketched these colors and patterns, then used TouchDesigner to generate randomized color systems and project them onto human skin, testing how caterpillar-derived coloration could rewrite the visual language of the human body.
It also led me to question human-centered aesthetics: would caterpillars find the human form strange or even repulsive?
If I were to resemble a caterpillar, would I become afraid of myself?
